Each of our Mille Crêpe cakes is designed with the delicate balance of flavour and texture in mind. The perfect crepe cake combines twenty lacy, paper-thin crepes with an ethereal pastry cream in between each layer. Each crepe is made by hand, and every cake is carefully crafted and assembled by our pastry chefs. We've listed a few of our Signature flavours, but we often have limited-edition creations that change with the seasons.
Our version of cheesecake is lighter than that of your standard New York style cheesecake. Our batter is lightened with a perfectly whipped meringue to achieve the airy texture found in our cheesecakes, and the taste of cheese is lighter than typically expected.
Our cheesecakes are currently only available at our Patisserie and Cafe locations.
Our cheesetarts are made with a baked sweet butter tart shell, and filled with flavour-infused cheese blends. They are then heated in the oven just briefly, then chilled quickly, for a delicious, flowing lava-like texture.
Our puddings are a play on what are known as "purins" (pronounced "pudding") found in every corner store in Japan. Our puddings have textures close to that of a crème caramel. Our cup bottoms are coated with a caramel, so makes sure you dig to the bottom even on the very first bite!
All of our gelato is freshly made in-house; each flavour recipe goes through rigorous testing (and tasting!) before launching to ensure the highest quality standard. We love experimenting with different flavours - our classics are flavours like Matcha, Yuzu, and Black Sesame.
We've partnered with our friends at Khao San Road to create a line of Thai-inspired gelato that includes flavours like Thai Tea, Pandan, and Coconut. We've also had the pleasure of working with notable chefs to create gelato (and other desserts!) for exciting culinary pop-ups (like Le Pavillon).
Our sweet crepes are currently served only in our Kensington Market location. We serve our crepes "Japanese" style - rolled into a cone shape and handheld. We take pride in using the freshest ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible, and often from our neighbours right in Kensington Market. Our batter is made with fresh eggs, milk, and butter - no mixes.
The concept of what we know as "Japanese crepes" first appeared in Harajuku, a district in Tokyo. Visitors to the area weren't particularly interested in sitting down and eating their crepes with a knife an fork simply because there was so much to see and do in the area. Similar to Harajuku, there is so much to see and do in Kensington Market that we encourage our patrons to grab a crepe and get exploring!
The best way to go about enjoying a handheld crepe is to indulge in some of the gelato and toppings first, before pushing the gelato into the crepe and eating it like an ice cream sandwich. Our crepe fillings go to the very bottom of the crepe cone, so every bite is both distinct, and delicious.
Our Savoury Crepes are currently only available at our Kensington Market location. Our savoury menu was created with the intent to put a twist on not only classic crepes, but also on classic Japanese dishes. We have delicious standards like our Smoked Salmon Crepe, but also items like a Pork Belly Okonomiyaki Crepe. We've created unique and scrumptious combinations that incorporate unique textures and flavours that excite us.
Our Parfaits are delicious concoctions layered with fresh fruits, whipped cream, gelato, and corn flakes. Corn flakes add great textural contrast to the myriad of delightful flavours.
Our Parfaits are currently only served at our Kensington Market location.
